Phyllis Kirchhoff

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Phyllis Kirchhoff, age 80, on July 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Phyllis was born on January 30, 1946, in Lafayette, Indiana. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Throughout her life, she called many places home, including Indiana, Illinois, California, and Tennessee, creating memories and friendships in each chapter of her journey.

Phyllis was born to John F. Myer and Mary Myer. She cherished her family and the relationships she built throughout her life. Her greatest joy was the love she shared with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a source of strength, support, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the generations of family she helped nurture.

Phyllis lived a life filled with adventure and new experiences. She worked for General Motors before beginning a career in aviation as a flight attendant with Reno Air and American Airlines. Her years in the airline industry reflected her love of people, travel, and discovering new places. She retired from American Airlines after a rewarding career that allowed her to experience much of the world.

Her love of travel extended far beyond her work. When she was not traveling for the airlines, Phyllis enjoyed traveling the world for pleasure with family and friends. She embraced new cultures, destinations, and experiences, always carrying with her a sense of curiosity and adventure. Her journeys reflected her independent spirit and appreciation for all that life had to offer.

Phyllis will be remembered for her love of family, adventurous spirit, independence, strength, and the many memories she created throughout her life. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel loved and valued, and she leaves behind a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughters, Annette Shepard and Ann Williams; her grandchildren, Joe Marsischky, Caitlin Marsischky, Nicole Williamson, and Michelle Imre; her great-grandchildren, Jelijah, Aubrey, Asher, and Josie; her sister, Joann Roberts; and her niece, Jennifer Daggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John F. Myer and Mary Myer.

In keeping with Phyllis’s wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together to honor and remember the wonderful life she lived.

Though she will be deeply missed, Phyllis’s love, her stories, her adventurous spirit, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
