Patricia Nanette Lenk

May 7, 1961 - August 25, 2018

Patricia Nanette Lenk, nee Fortenberry (Trish), devoted wife, mother and sister lost her long term battle with cancer on August 25, 2018. She passed peacefully surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion Everett Fortenberry (father) and Maria Martha Pfost (mother) and is survived by her husband William E. Lenk, siblings Ronald E. Fortenberry, and Phyliss nee Fortenberry, sister-in-law Kathi Fortenberry, children Steven and Jennifer Burke, step-children Jerico Renee Lenk, Emily Kaye Lenk, and Danette Michelle Lenk, niece Ashley Fortenberry and nephew Nicholas Fortenberry and nieces Rebecca Goard, Traci Griffith and Amanda Colon, along with a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins who mourn her passing.
Born in Amarillo, Texas, she spent her early childhood in Germany with her father's military assignments and in Alabama with her family before settling in Nashville. She met Bill, originally from N.J., in 2001 while training in Kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do in Nashville and they later married. She was employed by a large investment/insurance/estate planning firm as office manager for 24 years and later maintained her own homecleaning-landscaping business until her health forced her to retire.
Trish absolutely loved gardening and constantly spent countless days and nights nurturing many plants, both indoor and out. She also had a great fondness and fascination of rocks - collecting thousands of beautiful gems, geodes and common heart shaped treasures from all over the country. She also adored her animals and had a great passion for helping others - be it hundreds of stray and rescued animals or a friend needing a shoulder or some sage advice.
Trish was passionate about music - always bouncing to a song within her and supported her husband Bill's musical career. She was a friend, supporter and inspiration to the local music community known for her love to all.
The Celebration of Life Memorial and Service will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church in Nashville on September 9th.
A luncheon/gathering will be held at the Parish Hall beginning at 2:00pm followed by a Holy Eucharist Service at 4:30 pm. Attendees are encouraged to breing a dish to share if they would like to but certainly not expected.
In lieu of flowers, Trish requested that a cat or dog be rescued or adopted in her name, or donations of cat or dog food be donated to William Lenk for the rescues she was maintaining or a donation to the Metro Animal Control Center.
