Mary Elizabeth Joiner of Nashville, Tennessee

May 26, 1959 – January 28, 2023

Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Joiner passed away January 28, 2022, at the age of 63, surrounded in love by family and friends.

Beth was born in her beloved town of Wetumpka, Alabama.  Her father Bill and mother Helen moved the family to Phenix City, Alabama where she grew up and graduated from the newly formed Glenwood High School in 1977.  She attended college at The University of Alabama where she was a Kappa Delta and majored in Business.

After graduation, she moved to Columbus, GA where she began her 34-year career in the Financial Management Services industry with Synovus, acquiring several licenses and employee accolades. She finished her career with a move to Nashville, to be closer to her family and large extended family.  Never one to meet a stranger, Beth was blessed with many friends and lots of life adventures.  Her well-known love of the beach was a familiar happy place from a very early age and throughout her lifetime.  She was a free spirit who did things her way, yet she was always sensitive and caring to those around her.

Beth is predeceased by her parents, Bill and Helen Joiner, and survived by her sister Pat Joiner McDonald (Fairley) of Montgomery, Alabama, her brother Jay (Mary Beth) of Brentwood, Tennessee and the many nieces and nephews who meant the world to her:  Elizabeth McDonald Hanon (Bo) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ferrell McDonald Putnam (Carson) of Washington, DC, along with their children Hayes and Parker,  Will Joiner (Sidney) and their son Baxter of Nashville, Tennessee,  Julianna Joiner of Denver, Colorado, and Garrett Helen Joiner of Brentwood, Tennessee.  Other very special family included the Jenkin family, Hofstetter family, Stewart family, Thompson family and her many lifelong friends that were like family.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (early Fall) along the shores of her beloved Beaches of South Walton.

The family would like to send a special thank you to her friends who helped care for and cheer up Beth during her brave fight with cancer.
