Lori Ann Sessler Higdon Hendrix

July 28, 1954 — August 18, 2025

Lori Ann Sessler Higdon Hendrix, lovingly known as “Dodi,” was born on July 28, 1954, in Waterloo, New York, to William Hadley and the late Barbara Jean Carrie. Surrounded by her loved ones, Lori went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2025.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Lori’s greatest joy in life was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children and later treasured her role as “Noni” to her grandchildren. A stay-at-home mom for many years, Lori also worked as a bookkeeper and was known for her steady hand and trustworthy spirit. She faithfully supported not only her own children and grandchildren but also her nieces and nephews, always stepping in with love, encouragement, and care.

Lori’s life was marked by her faith in Jesus Christ. As a member of Long Hollow Church, she cherished worshiping alongside her church family and lived out her faith in tangible ways—through her compassion, her service, and her deep love for people.

Lori enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Lori spent most of her free time attending church, her grandchildren’s events, and studying the Bible. Lori will truly be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Hendrix (“Coach”); her children, Michael (Emily) Higdon, Bradley (Brittany) Higdon, Katie (Josh) Elliott, Ben (Janessa) Hendrix, and Rachel Hendrix and Harrison Ciskowski; and her beloved grandchildren, Easton and Presley Higdon, Tripp and Hadley Elliott, and Harper and Hudson Hendrix.

Lori is also survived by her siblings, Cindy (the late William) Scharett, Pennie (Peter) Brandon, and Andrea (Todd) Odum. She was preceded in death by her sister Tammy Lynn Sessler. She was a loving aunt to Mark and Trinity Scharett, Rick and Jennifer Scharett, Jonathon Brandon and Priya Roy, Ariel Brandon and Christian Sudweeks, Aaron and Shell Odum, and Ryan Odum.

She will be remembered as an amazing mother and grandmother, a faithful sister, and a friend to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, grace, and devotion will live on in the countless lives she touched.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Long Hollow Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alive Hospice in Lori’s honor.
