Heartfelt & Personal
Janet Elaine "Jan" McMillan, 80, of Nashville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2026.
Jan was born on September 24, 1946, in Milford, Connecticut, to Ed and Cindy Czap. Although the family moved to Enterprise, AL, in 1957, her Connecticut roots stayed with her throughout her life. Jan was a loyal supporter of the University of Connecticut basketball programs. She followed the Huskies with enthusiasm, even attending several Women’s Final Four tournaments and took great pride in their success.
Jan loved being outdoors and found joy in camping and in time spent at the beach. She also had a lifelong fondness for games that brought people together around a table. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed many hours playing Mah Jongg with friends, valuing the conversation and companionship as much as the play itself.
Jan had a generous heart and a particular concern for children facing serious illness. She made regular donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that remained close to her heart.
She is survived by her son, Tom McMillan; her grandchildren, Meredith McMillan, Megan McMillan, and Ryan McMillan; her brother, James Czap (Pam); her sister, Judy Hussey; her niece, Lisa Czap; her nephew, Jimmy Czap (Carol); grandnieces, Sarah Fish (Myles) and Laura Worthington; grandnephew, Everett Czap; and stepdaughter, Annette Griffith (Mark). She is also survived by her close friend, Karen Henry, who shared a special place in her life.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Cindy Czap.
A woman of Christian faith, and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Jan is remembered with love by her family and friends, who take comfort in the hope of eternal rest. A Celebration of Life gathering will be scheduled, and details will be shared when available.
In keeping with Jan's wishes, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
