Jane Murphy Scobey of Franklin, Tennessee

Jane Ann Murphy Scobey of Franklin, TN passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2022, at the age of 76.

Born on January 12th, 1946, to Harold and Jane Murphy, she was the youngest of five children. Jane grew up in Nashville and attended Peabody College. In 1975 she married Bill Scobey and together they welcomed a son, Chad, in 1983.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished time with her family and enjoyed hosting family dinners filled with good food, music, and laughter. She was a loving, kind, and always supportive presence in the lives of those lucky enough to know her.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Jane, her brothers Gene and Jim, and her sister Patty Joy (Gould). She is survived by her sister Mary Ellen (Bridges), husband Bill, son Chad and daughter-in-law Sarah, her grandchildren Hannah Jane and Ethan, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family requests that donations be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers. There will be a celebration of life at 10:30am at the family’s home in Franklin, TN on August 13th, 2022. For information please contact 615-417-7335.
