Jacqueline Alexander

Jacqueline Gail Alexander, lovingly known by those who cherished her, was born on February 14, 1962, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She peacefully passed away at home on August 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Jacqueline was a woman who left an impact everywhere she went. To know her was to love her. She had a way of making people laugh, making people feel welcome, and leaving a piece of herself with everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She was fiercely loving, strong-willed, full of life, and above all else, a devoted mother and grandmother.

Jacqueline shared her life with her beloved husband, Melvin Alexander. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, laughter, and memories that will be treasured forever.

Jacqueline is survived by her three sisters, Brenda Rector, June Wyrick, Jean Whitlock who will forever carry the memories, laughter, and love they shared with her.

Her greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her four children, Jeremy Shields, Hali Shields, Dustin Minor, and Vanessa Azer, who will carry her love, lessons, laughter, and strength with them for the rest of their lives.

She was a proud grandmother to Jasmine Kittrell, Cayden Minor, Reagan Duncan, Kylie Duncan, Alexis Nelson, Skyler Nolan, Camden Nolan, Easton Nolan, Locklin Azer, and Cooper Azer. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and the love she poured into each of them will continue through the generations.

Jacqueline loved the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved being outside drinking her coffee, spending time with her birds, making people laugh, and surrounding herself with the things she loved. She had a special love for her jewelry and her lotion, perfumes, shopping, and the little pieces of beauty that reflected her personality and her love for life.

But perhaps the greatest thing about Jacqueline was the way she loved. She loved fiercely, protected fiercely, and fought fiercely for the people she called hers. She fought a good fight, and when her time came, she was surrounded by the people who meant the most to her.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her beloved parents Sally Baird, David Baird and her brothers Troy Baird, Frank Baird as well as her first sweet grandson, Brandon Nebel.

Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that she is no longer hurting and has made her way home to the Lord. Heaven didn’t just gain an angel—it gained a fiercely loving mother, a devoted grandmother, a beloved wife, and a woman who fought a good fight and left an unforgettable mark on this world.

Her laughter will echo in the memories of those who knew her. Her love will live on in her children and grandchildren. And her presence will forever be felt in the places and hearts she touched.
