Jack was born on October 18, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Earl Lee McGuire and Ruby Vivian Scott.
Jack had two brothers, Ed and Bob McGuire, in addition to a half brother, Billy Don Howard, and a half sister, Doris Howard.
Jack joined the United States Marines at the age of 14, when his mother signed for him and stated that he was older. He served from January 23, 1948 to December 11, 1951. He received an honorable discharge at the age of 17.
He married Zella May Gossett on December 13, 1949 in Yuma, Arizona. They had five sons: Jack Allen, Steven Michael, Thomas Eugene, Michael Patrick, and Sean Edward. He and Zella had 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Jacked joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 22, 1955. Jack and Zella were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on August 12, 1959. He had a number of responsible positions as a member of his church. Both he and Zella worked in both the Atlanta and Nashville Temples for a number of years. After they retired, they served a full-time proselyting mission in Arizona.
His profession as an upholsterer owning his own business supported him and his family throughout his life.
He coached Little League Baseball and Basketball.
He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He, as will his wife, will be missed until we meet again on the other side of the veil.
