In Loving Memory of Dwayne Nieves

Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend

Dwayne Nieves was a man whose presence was truly larger than life. Known for his infectious humor, generous heart, and unforgettable personality, he had a remarkable ability to bring laughter, joy, and warmth to those around him. Beneath his larger-than-life personality was a servant's heart and a genuine desire to make life better for others.

From an early age, Dwayne demonstrated a natural willingness to help those around him. As the oldest of six children, he was a source of encouragement and support to his family, a role he continued to embrace throughout his life. His compassion extended beyond his family through numerous volunteer efforts, including personally delivering food to those in need. He was always looking for ways to give more and make a difference in the lives of others.

Dwayne believed deeply in the importance of strong families and the positive influence that encouragement and mentorship could have on young people. He invested his time as a youth sports coach, sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm, and love of athletics with the next generation, including some of his own younger siblings. Through coaching, he found another meaningful way to give of himself and make a lasting impact on the lives of others.

A talented athlete himself, Dwayne played semi-professional football and maintained a lifelong passion for the game. He was also an avid San Francisco 49ers fan, bringing the same enthusiasm and spirited personality to his love of football that he brought to so many other areas of his life.

Above all, Dwayne loved the Lord and cherished his family. For 25 years, he and his beloved wife, Shawna, shared a marriage built on love, laughter, friendship, and commitment. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges, building a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories. Shawna was his partner in life, sharing his dreams, his heart, and the journey they walked together.

Being a father to Cassidy, Jordan, and Kaleb brought Dwayne an extraordinary sense of purpose and pride. His children were among his greatest blessings, and he embraced fatherhood with his unmistakable humor, generous heart, and unconditional love. Through his guidance, encouragement, and example, he sought to instill the values of faith, family, compassion, and kindness.

Dwayne is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Shawna; his beloved children, Cassidy, Jordan, and Kaleb Nieves; his mother, Hazel Nieves; and his father, Ronald Nieves.

He is also survived by his siblings, Emmanuel (Autumn), Naomi (Jesse), Rachael, Rebekah, Benjamin, and Jayna Nieves; and his nieces and nephews, Elisha, Ezra, Nathaniel, Gabriella, Ava, Owen, Matthew, Eden, Regan, and Ezekiel.

Dwayne is also lovingly remembered by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Timothy and Rebecca Cassidy; his brothers-in-law and their spouses, Kevin (Bobbi) Cassidy and Matthew Sr. (Shannon) Cassidy; and his nieces and nephews, Jake, Wyatt, Abbi, Christine, Jedi, and Matthew Jr.

Dwayne's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the countless memories of laughter, kindness, and generosity he leaves behind.
