Reverend Charles Thomas Wallace Sr. (Tom) passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and devotion to his family.
Born in West Virginia, Tom moved to Nashville in the sixth grade, where he would lay down deep roots. He pursued a life dedicated to serving others, earning his Bachelor’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene College and his Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University. Reverend Wallace faithfully served the Methodist Church for 20 years. Following his retirement from the ministry, he transitioned into a role as a funeral director, continuing his lifelong calling of comforting and supporting families through their most difficult moments.
Above all his accomplishments, Tom’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. After his second retirement, he cherished spending time with family and friends and found immense happiness in caring for and keeping up with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann Smithson Wallace; his three children, Charles Thomas Wallace Jr. (Elizabeth), Valiere Anne Gamble, and Carl Smithson Wallace (Sue); and his sister, Marilyn Rose Freeman (Glen) of Florida. He leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Harbour-Anne West Gamble, Charles Thomas Wallace III, Greyson Elliot Gamble, Margaret Elizabeth Wallace, Harley Abigail Wallace, and Anwyn Rose Wallace.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Franklin First United Methodist Church
