Brian Thomas Hartman died peacefully at his home in Franklin, Tennessee on August 22, 2018 at the age of 50.
Brian was born on September 1st, 1967 to John T Hartman and Mary Charlotte Bryan Hartman in Houston, Texas. Brian attended Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana, where his lifelong love for IU basketball began. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1994 with a degree in Business Administration. He married Jennifer Carol Williams, the love of his life, in 2002. Brian worked for Steris Corporation as the National Director, Corporate Project Development.
Over 16 years, the couple was blessed with two children. Brian and Jennifer set about teaching them strong basic values to help them succeed in life. His children remember him as a very positive influence. He always told them that "Hartmans never quit". Brian encouraged his children to excel in academic studies and to participate in sports. Emma is in the final stages of studying for her Black Belt in Taekwondo. Jack is a very accomplished all-around baseball player. His children will remember him as a kind, patient and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Brian loved golf and played as often as his schedule permitted. He took an active interest in Jack's sporting activities, volunteering to help coach both baseball and basketball. Through baseball and basketball Brian became friends with hundreds of other families that supported him throughout his illness.
Brian is survived by his father John (Jan) Hartman of Spring Hill Tennessee; wife Jennifer; children, Emma Charlotte and Jack Travis; sister Melissa Hartman (Jud) Clift of Brentwood Tennessee; step-sister Jill (Rick) Flowers of Westfield Indiana; and step-brother Matthew (Bobbi) Schneider of Windfall Indiana.
